today i want to tell everyone about the wonderful men in my life.
my dad
he taught me to work, to laugh, and to play. i remember standing on his feet when i was little and dancing around the living room. i remember how he would tease us kids until we were in tears. and i remember the day he stole my car out of my boyfriends drive way because i broke curfew and to top it off my favorite 'hootchie' clothes were in shreds when i finally came home. he always looked out for me. every guy i ever dated knew they'd have to answer to my dad if they ever hurt me or did ANY THING inappropriate. he handed out 'for the strength of youth pamphlets' when my friends came to my house before the 9th grade night dance, he danced with my homecoming date, and he asked jeff (at the dinner table and in front of the entire family), "do you ever get sexually aroused when you kiss my daughter?". i love my dad! the good, the bad and the ugly! don't ever try to beat him at his own game- he ALWAYS wins!
if for some reason i had to choose a dad, and it couldn't be my own, i would pick my father-in-law. i remember being scared of him back when jeff and i were dating. i didn't think he cared for me much back then, but i've come to realize he is almost as big of a smartass as i am. with murray, what you see is what you get. i couldn't ask for a better f.i.l! he is hard worker and the first to help when ever we need it. he is the best grandpa. he and hunter have always had a special bond and it only gets stronger the older hunter gets. kamryn thinks her papa hung the moon and she knows she can have anything she wants when it comes to both her papa's. he taught jeff to be a hard worker and to love nature. because of him my dear sweet hubby is the man he is. he appreciates the simple things in life and doesn't need more than he has. his family comes first and we love him for that! we love you papa murray!
jeff
well, i know you are probably all sick of hearing about my wonderful hubby (mel). but bare with me while i tell the world 10 of my favorite things about jeff.
1- he appreciates the little things in life
2- he can have the kids laughing in no time flat!
3- he has patients with the kids when i don't
4- he loves the out doors and loves to camp with the fam
5- he's a hard worker
6- he's great with money, sometimes i tease him and tell him he's cheap- but he's the reason we have any savings!!!
7- he loves his mom and treats her like a queen!
8- once he has his mind made up he sticks with it (thank goodness!!!! glad he stuck with me through all the stupid mistakes i've made)
9- he loves to teach our kids all sorts of stuff (the good, the bad, and the ugly)
10- he gave me kamryn and hunter!!!!
after eating dinner with jeff's parents today kamryn asked if we could stop by the cemetery to see her grandma elaine's and papa perry's grave. we stopped for a minute and let her try to search out the headstone by herself. she knows the area, but couldn't quite pin point the exact sight by herself. she loves to hear and tell stories about her grandma and papa thomas.
earlier this week kamryn and kendyl made all the most important men in their life a special tie for the occasion. i had to wait to post these pictures as to not ruin the surprise.
(papi's, papa murray's, chet's, papa don's, and jeff's)
also, for this little occasion i made kamryn a special dress from one of her daddy's old shirt. I wish i could take credit for the idea, but i just followed a tutorial my friend told me about. it was a ton fun and i learned how to really use my ruffle foot.

What a fun tribute! And I love the dress you made! TOTALLY cute!
Loved the tribute. Your ties looked fantastic. Reed had to wear the one Taylor made him ten years ago. It looked pretty similar to that one.
Cute tribute. I love the ties.
