happy birthday jeff!

today is my sweet husbands 28th birthday. for last 8 days he's been rubbing it in that he is only 27... butt head!!! welcome to the world of 28, hubby!

for those of you who don't know jeff, let me tell you a little about him. he is a mountain man through and through. he tells me about twice a month how nice it would have been to live 150 years ago. this man needs no modern technology (although, he does enjoy it). one of his favorite things to do is shed hunt... sheds??? you say. yes sheds- not the kind you buy from home depot to put your lawn mower in, but sheds that were at one point connected to an animals head (antlers). he has a 'little' collection that he adds to every now again. sounds boring to me, but his hobby is cheap- it takes a pair of hiking boots, a backpack and a pair of legs willing to walk hundreds of miles (which makes up for my small addiction to buying fabric).


he is a very hard worker and an awesome dad. he shocked my entire family a couple years ago by taking our little kamryn (who had just turned 2) camping while i stayed home and endured morning sickness (it's much easier to enjoy the yacking when you don't have a 2 year old asking every 2 seconds if you are going to puke, again). he is the 'fun' parent. the one who would rather go to the park and to wendy's to eat rather than make sure the house is clean and make dinner. kamryn has her dad wrapped around her little finger- just were she wants him. hunter thinks his daddy walks on water. i lost track of how many fishing trips he took the two of them on last summer while i was working. i couldn't ask for a better dad for my kids.


now, its time to make you all jealous!!!! he is a great dad, and a hard worker... but all of that is very minor compared to what kind of husband he makes! he is the husband who has an opinion... but he'll let you think you are right just to keep the peace in the house. he says sorry when i'm sure i should be the one apologizing. and no matter how fat i get (prego or not) he always makes me feel like i am the most sexy, beautiful, wonderful woman he's ever laid eyes on. he even told a guy he works with (who I dated once upon a time) that he considers me a trophy wife (and i'm pretty sure the guy was baffled at that thought). he is never ashamed of me- zit faced, bed head, 40lbs over weight and in my sweats, he'll still introduce me to his friends. he isn't a picky eater. gourmet is a frozen pizza from costco and a bag of frozen shoe string french fries. if my dishes aren't done- he does them. when he gets home from work he can tell i've had a bad day he pushes me out the door to go have 'me' time -shopping, tanning, driving, or whatever... all by myself!!!! yay!!! he does not believe in flowers or chocolates (which is fine by me- flowers die and chocolates make me fat), but he is always up to whisk me away to taco amigo or pick up cafe rio and a movie. he never asks where all our money went and never ever ever has he asked me "what did you do all day?" when he gets home from work and the sink is over flowing with dishes, lunch is still on the table, dinner hasn't even crossed my mind, the beds aren't made and the kids are looking like orphans (those are the days he sends me for 'me' time). when i'm sick he'll run me a bath, rub my back/feet and make sure the kids are taken care of.


i know i couldn't ask for a better dad for my kids... and i definitely couldn't dream of a better man to be my husband. he is number 1 in my life and i'm pretty sure my kids kind of like him, as well. we'll keep him around for a while longer. jeff, i love you more than you could ever imagine!
