out of the mouth of one very cute babe!

we ran some errands today and had to stop at walmart to get kamryn her bike helmet i promised her. as we were walking out we saw tiffany (my sil) drive past. she turned around and came back to say hi. she was running in to do a little grocery shopping with her 2 kids. i volunteered to take her oldest home with me to make her shopping a little easier. kendyl is 3 going on 17. this girl has attitude! i had to run to the drive through gas station for my daily diet pepsi fix on our way home. this is the conversation she and i had...

kendyl: aunty haley, i am sooooo thirsty!

me: i have drinks at my house for you little ones.

kendyl: but i'm thirsty right now, aunty haley.

me: you'll have to wait.

kendyl: but i NEED a bug juice, or i'll STARVE...

me: oh well, i only have enough money to buy me a diet pepsi.

kendyl: aunty haley, will you please listen to me?

me: i'm listening.

kendyl: no, aunty haley, will you really listen to me.

me: i am listening.

kendyl: no, aunty haley, look me in the eyes and listen to me...

(trying so hard not to laugh i turned around (the car was in park) and looked in her eyes)

me: i'm listening, kendyl.

kendyl: aunty haley, i am soooo thirsty, i need a bug juice.

me: i only have enough cash for my diet pepsi. you can have a drink when we get to my house.

kendyl: my mommy has money.

me: your mom isn't here to pay.

kendyl: aunty haley, there is a reason my dad works!!!! it is to get money, to give to my mommy, who then spends the money on ME! stuff like bug juice! so call my mommy and she can come buy it for me!

me: silent.... what do say to that???

i just laughed all the way home!!! turns out she didn't want her dad to go to work this morning and her mom explained to her why her daddy works! these kids are way too smart for there own good!
