yesterday jeff, the kids, and i took a little drive up to strawberry reservoir. the smarts had invited us up for the weekend, but between jeff's baseball games and my day at the quilt shop we decide to just make an afternoon out of it. when we pulled in the first thing that greeted us was a horny toad saige and her daddy had caught. hunter and 'scratchy' (the toad) were fast friends. kamryn on the other hand wasn't sure what she thought of the thing. it took us all day to convince her to even touch the thing. this poor toad!!!! it was poked and prodded and dropped on his head (not to mention being picked up by his tail). when it was finally set free i'm sure it scurried away to tell all his little horny friends to make sure to throw themselves under a diesel's tire before being captured by a little kid!

those 2 little dots are kamryn and saige. they kept themselves busy all day by hiking up to this little patch of snow and hauling bucket of the cold stuff back to camp.
and here are the two sleeping beauties in their castle of a trailer! we turned on cars for them to watch and i'm pretty sure neither one of them made it 5 minutes into the movie.
we had so much fun watching the kids run and play and get oh so very dirty! thanks for inviting us calvin and kenz!

What a fun day. I can remember when we were little and catching Horney Toads. I think that is all Trevor and Jeff would do was try to catch lizards and horney toads- all day long.
