My friend Cami is the NICEST mom ever!!! I'm pretty sure my kids, her kids, and all her nieces and nephews would agree with me. She's the kind of mom that brings the snow into the bathtub when it is too cold to play with it outside, makes salt dough on a regular basis, lets her kids finger paint in their unders... you know, the stuff we all wish we had the patience and time for. Well, she gets it from her mom. Her sweet mom likes to hunt for monarch eggs for her grand kids so they can watch them turn to butterflies. This time one of them thought of me and my kids and brought us a baby caterpillar. My kids were fascinated by it! I thought it was going to be more work than it really was, but all we really had to do is change the milk weed twice and once right before it spun the chrysalis I found the little guy trying to escape down my kitchen chair. Here is our little guy growing into a beautiful butterfly.

when i woke up the next morning i checked him and he was still hanging in a J, i went back to bed. 3 minutes later my kids came running in all bummed cause we missed him spinning the chrysalis. they are fast little buggers!
2 weeks later he busted out, hung to dry- until Hunter lost patience and pulled him out to play with him.

Hunter was more than a little sad to say good bye.
