di finds/more redos

i'm all about a good di find. i love cheap ways to make my house my home. so here this weeks finds...

after staying at my friends v's house a few weekends ago i fell in love with plates. she has one everywhere you turn and i LOVE it! so here i go again copying the master of decoration.

i found this plate and i loved the shape of it, but not so keen on the design or color.

i have a place all planned out for a few of these babies, but i have a few more projects to finish before it can be hung. after a few coats of paint, this is what it looks like now...

and i found this... i see potential, but i'm having a hard time deciding exactly what to do with it.

i'm thinking of getting rid of the glass, turning the top upside down and using it as a planter. or i might just use the plate on my wall somewhere. but when the right idea hits i'm sure i'll know it. any suggestions??? an up close look might inspire someone... do you see the potential?
