what a mom does when she's not being "mom"

ok- so with my 1 1/2 hrs of "free" time 2 days a week i've decided i want to spend it doing stuff that is either really hard to do with 4 'helping' hands, or do something just for me!
project #1- this week started with trying to get my mil birthday present ready. i totally forgot to take a picture of it before i gave it to her last night. it was an old window that i had sanded down, repainted, revamped the hardware, and had mirrors installed. it turned out so nice that i have 3 other windows i can't wait to get done... i vow to get them done before it gets too cold to spray paint outside!!!
project #2- do something with this ugly thing!!!

and wallah!

i hated the carriage before, but now i LOVE it!

project #3- do something, anything with the family home evening grab bag kenzie let me have. it's the coolest thing. there are a ton of lessons and little nick-knacks that go to each lesson. you let the kids pull one item out, find the corresponding lesson and "POOF" fhe is taken care of!

i still need to get my sil to use her cricket and make me a tag that says 'family home evening grab bag' to put on the binder... but until then- this should do. a paint can, a couple pieces scrapbook paper, some spray adhesive and its much cuter than the grocery sack in came in (no offence kenz!!!)

project #4- fertilize the lawn

project #5- start sewing 1 of the 3 quilts i've bought material for.

and that is what i did with my 3 hours of not being 'mom'. i think i'll go take a nap for my last 15 minutes of 'free' time.
