well, i've been waiting to tell ya'll about my little jont to the di this week. i had to go to the humanitarian center to pick up some quilt tops for our relief society humanitarian night. i've never experienced the di at 9:55 tuesday morning until this week. oh my! you know the commercial (i think it is for rc willey) that the associates are fighting over who has to open the doors. one has a broken arm, another is on crutches and the 3rd is in a full body cast in a wheel chair. well, i'm pretty sure they got the idea from a tuesday morning spent waiting for the doors to open at the di. i thought it opened earlier than it really does, so we were 20 minutes early. i didn't think much about it, so we left and got a drink from the gas station. when we got back 10 minutes later there was a line at the door. A LINE! the people were from all walks of life. from the single dad with 3 kids still in their jammies, an old grandpa that collects books, a chain smoker in his overalls, the lady that got out of her cadi dressed in her designer clothes and designer shoes, and the 30 other people standing in line. i was told that every tuesday is just like this! ok- so it's busy- i get it... but it gets better! when i finally walked through the door i tried to grab a cart to stick my kids in... um, the lady in the cadi walked off with my cart as i was trying to put hunter in it!!!! she was running!!!! for REALS lady... its the di! so after visiting the h.c. i had to walk through and check out the goods. i found 2 retro (not vintage- mars, that is for you) sheets that i am going to make some lounge pants out of and a china set i loved... but do i really need a china set? i don't have anyplace do display it and i doubt i would ever use it, so i didn't buy it... and now i can't get the stupid thing off my mind!!!! thinking of all fun things i could use it for- needless to say- i am heading to the di again today. i'll make bets that it is gone, but maybe i can find another treasure! i'll post pics of the lounge pants hopefully this weekend, but until then i will just be thankful i got to see the di on tuesday morning at 9:55!

i totally know which china set you are talking about!! dave has been there a couple of days this week and he found something that he wanted to show me so i went there and saw it! you should totally buy it...think thanksgiving...sunday dinner..jeff would love it (eye roll)! wait till you see what dave is making into an entertainment center...you'll die. i'm a little anxious to see what it's going to look like.:) can't wait to see the jammies.
kay i hit dave up about that and he said it's like that every morning...crazy!
Sounds like an adventure! I don't know if I'd like it. ;) Can't wait to see your pants... what's up with all these fabulous sheet finds that you guys are making clothing out of? Our DI here stinks!
so i went back to the di and guess what i walked out with out... the china set... i fell in love with more sheets and curtains (i posted them on hayleaves.blogspot.com) and only can allow myself to spend so much at the di... or my house would look like the beuler farm (those from utah county know what i'm talking about)
I have been their on a tuesday morning. It was crazy. It was last summer and I thought people were crazy. I guess a sweet deal is worth it.
