we went in for kamryns kindergarten check up today. i can't believe she is this old! i don't remember going for mine but i totally remember my little brother cheyne going in for his. time flies with these little kids! last time kamryn had to have a shot i surprised her with it (what a great surprise!) and she freaked out. so this time we let her know what we thought was going to happen (1 shot)- boy, was i wrong! she has been pretty stressed over it. of course, i decided to bribe her with something she's been wanting for a while, a new bike helmet, if she was super brave. as she was sitting up on the table waiting for josh (the m.a.) to get all the stuff he needed she turned to me with the saddest little face, big crocodile tears ready to fall, and then she asked, "mom, if i'm scared does that mean i'm not brave?" i explained to her that if you do something you are scared of that makes you brave. she was soooooooo brave. she laid up on the table when josh needed to measure her.
she held out her arm while josh took her blood pressure
and she held out her finger for him to prick. she held so still while she got the prick... the first, second, and third time, and only cried on the third poke. 3 pokes? why 3? well, her skin is thicker than most kids and he couldn't get it deep enough to make her bleed. the 3rd time he set it to what he would for an adult and it finally worked. can you see how thrilled she was with josh's work?
she's finally figured out that the doctor is the nice one. she has been forever terrified by him, but now she's figured out it is the m.a.'s that she hates! dr mike taught her to balance a tongue depressor on her nose while laying down,
and even getting off the table (it didn't fall once- well, not until hunter knocked it off)
hunter wasn't quite sure what to think of the whole experience. every time someone would tell kamryn to sit on the table he would freak right out. i had to keep telling him they were talking to kamryn, not him. he loved watching them torture her, right up until they brought out the needles at the end. she had to have 3 shots, 2 in one arm and her mmr in the other. once again, she sat up there so brave- extremely tense, but still, brave. once the needles started poking and the screaming began hunter was furious that someone would hurt his sister. at one point i thought he was going to kick pam (the other m.a.) in the shins. he was yelling and telling them to stop hurting his 'sissy'. it was so cute!!!!
they were both very happy when the appointment was over!!!!

Can't believe it's time for kindergarten. Seems so strange that Jenna will do that in only one more year. My, how time has flown...weird...
But from the looks of the pics, she will be the CUTEST kindergartener EVER! :)
